new since… answers the question, “What’s NEW SINCE before?” by unmasking the very latest in corporate lies and American imperial propaganda, showing how familiar terms are twisted into a NEW SENSE to make you obey. Its subversive commentary constitutes this site as a public NUISANCE, unqualified to earn NEWS CENTS by faithful official stenography the way a respectable, for-profit outlet would. Nor will you find here advocacy for allowing ourselves to be slowly hanged for fear of being too hasty, like the Democratic Party leadership and its think-alikes in academia and public broadcasting — the wooden-headed NOOSE ENTS. Instead, you will find, not the news itself, but the tools to not be fooled — the antidote to the psy-ops all around us.

And who is the Nuisance Man???

The Nuisance Man’s corporeal manifestation

Michael Lubin, the perpetrator of this blog, can just hear the voices of his ancestors crying from the coffins, “NU? SINCE when does this nudnik know everything?“ An assiduous Nuisance Man from an early age, he is also known variously as Caveman, Lubejob, the Dialectrician, and “Hey, you bozo with the long hair!” Although a Ph.D. student in History of Culture at the University of Chicago, he perversely insists on living in California. Michael Lubin served on the first democratically elected governing board in the history of KPFA, the nation’s oldest listener-sponsored radio station. There, he was a founding member of the pro-democracy listeners’ movement People’s Radio. Not surprisingly, the board has gone downhill dramatically in his absence (beware “listeners” whose main “concern” is to shut listeners and unpaid staff out of decision-making to allow a small clique of untouchables to keep running the station). On a more academic (or anti-academic) level, his gauntlet to the world in essay form, “Theory in a Time of War,” attacking the anti-theoretical trend of contemporary thought and its link to social and political reaction, can be read in full at his other website, dialectrics.com.
